Certispec - The Corona Virus and Covid-19

COVID-19 Client Update

As a global organization Certispec is closely monitoring the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and has taken a robust approach to managing the potential health and business risks across international operations.

Our Management Team is currently meeting on a daily basis to discuss the issues of the day and implement any changes to our plans that may be required based on the ever changing situation.

We are following guidance and advice from government authorities and the World Health Organization and have put in place appropriate measures to ensure that the Certispec Group is well-prepared and well-positioned to continue to support you with minimal disruption to operations.

Certispec is focused on two key aspects: the health and welfare of our staff and our ability to continue to deliver the excellent service you have come to expect.

Preventative measures in place include but are not limited to:

  • Provided employees with additional cleaning and hygiene supplies as well as PPE in all work areas and strongly encouraged employees to wipe down areas of frequent contact
  • Heightened control, hygiene and prevention measures in our offices
  • Special notice distributed to surveyors attending vessels and interacting with vessel crew
  • Group meetings / appointments to take place via video conference where possible
  • Non-essential business travel has been cancelled
  • Instructed all employees that if they become aware of direct exposure to COVID-19 to refrain from returning to work until further notice

Our global network of offices is committed to continue to deliver regular service within constraints that may be imposed on Certispec and its staff around the world.  If you require specific information with respect to an appointment, please contact your Certispec representative directly.

Certispec has successfully managed disruptions in the past and will make every effort to do so with the current outbreak as well.  As businesses across the world are increasingly impacted by the spread of the virus, we will continue to follow official guidance from national and local authorities, and the World Health Organization and take immediate action.   Certispec has invested in technology and put in place the infrastructure to support remote working where possible. Certispec will continue to provide sampling and inspection services globally and analytical services from our network of Inspection and laboratory operations until it is either unsafe to continue or we receive official instructions to cease operations.

We ask that all clients suspend any special projects and requests which will require additional staffing for sampling or analysis.

While we are managing to maintain our usual levels of service at this time, should the situation continue to deteriorate, it is possible that government restrictions or other factors beyond our control may make it difficult if not impossible to provide the timely and comprehensive service levels that you have come to expect from Certispec.

Similarly, some terminals have already began restricting access to certain areas and buildings or have reduced manning to skeleton crews.  These terminal restrictions are beyond our control and we ask for understanding related to any limitations caused by these temporary restrictions during these unprecedented times.

We understand the critical role that we fill providing a reliable service to our customers. We will continue to operate safely and efficiently to meet and exceed your expectations.

We look forward to resuming our normal activities when the appropriate time comes. Until then, we will strive to support your needs with the same professional attention as in the past.
